FAK-S PRECISION LAB KNITTING MACHINE
LH-122 FAK-S
The Lawson Hemphill FAK-Sampler, FAK-S is recognized as the worldwide standard for lab knitting machines. It is a high-speed, precision knitting machine designed to check uniformity and consistency of the yarn quickly and accurately. It is ideal for use in production control and R&D labs as well as dyeing plants.

In any knitting application, the yarn tension and the yarn feed controls are critical to ensure fabric uniformity. Any changes in these variables during knitting will cause irregularities, creating a defective fabric. The FAK-S has a built-in Stitch Control System, which ensures the preparation of the standard samples of knit fabric for yarn quality control purposes. The machine also features a take-up assembly to collect the fabric under controlled tension to further ensure fabric uniformity.

The FAK-S can knit all types of yarns, including synthetic and natural fibers as well as monofilament, filament, elastomeric and spun yarns. Nine different cylinder sizes are available to knit yarns from 10d up to 2000d. All knitting cylinders are interchangeable and can be used with all Lawson Hemphill knitters. (Please consult Lawson Hemphill for knitting higher or lower denier yarns).

HDK HOT DRAW KNITTER
LH-123 HDK
The uniformity of POY (Partially Oriented Yarn) is essential. The irregular POY packages need to be identified and prevented from entering the production line. The textile industry relies on the knit-dye-grade method to qualify the POY packages. Preparing uniform knit samples is the most critical step during this process.

The Hot Draw Knitter, HDK, is a high-speed, precision knitting machine with a built-in stitch control system to check the uniformity and the consistency of the POY production quickly and accurately. It is ideal for use in production control and R&D labs as well as dyeing plants.

POY, MOY and LOY samples from 10d up to 2000d can be knit with the HDK. (Please consult Lawson Hemphill to knit higher or lower denier yarns).

The machine can be equipped with a non-contact Vapor heater and contact Pin heater to allow testing both polyester and nylon yarns. Precision Draw ratios are available from 1:1 to 1:3, with increments of 0.05.

A Draw Force Test option is available to measure the tension on the yarn as it is being drawn and knitted. With the Draw Force measurement, the HDK becomes the only instrument that provides a knit sample and draw force results on a package at the same time. This test complies with ASTM 5344, Standard Method for Extension Force of Partially Oriented Yarn.

KNITTING
Hot Draw Knitter with Draw Force Tester, HDK-DFT, is a precision knitting machine with automatic stitch control system and a Draw Force measurement to check the consistency of the POY production quickly and accurately. It is ideal for use in production control and R&D labs as well as dyeing plants.

The HDK-DFT is the only instrument that provides a knit sample and draw force results on a package at the same time. This test complies with ASTM D 5344, Standard Method for Extension Force of Partially Oriented Yarn.

POY, MOY and LOY samples from 10d up to 2000d can be knit with the HDK. (Please consult Lawson Hemphill to knit higher or lower denier yarns). Precision Draw ratios are available from 1:1 to 1:3, with increments of 0.05.

Windows based and user friendly DFT software program provides real-time tension data on the yarn as it is being drawn and knitted. Accept/Reject limits can be defined by the operator. The test results and the tension graphs are saved in common file formats. DFT software includes the ability to run draw force tests under increasing temperature levels to determine optimum settings and critical temperatures for the yarn under test.
