Constant Tension Transport with Electronic Servo Drive (CTT-E) is a dynamic test instrument that is available as a mini laboratory for yarns. With its interchangeable test modules, the CTT-E can run more than 10 tests on the same instrument for all natural and synthetic yarns as well as technical yarns such as aramids, carbon, glassfiber and spandex. With this versatility along with its dynamic test principle that will test every section of the yarn, the CTT-E offers the ability to eliminate high cost of running trials on actual production machines before the yarn is sent to the next textile process.

Texturizing is an important step that adds natural fiber feel to synthetic yarns by introducing bulk and crimp. Traditionally, these properties were measured using Skein method, which by design, can only measure skeins of yarn at a time.
The introduction of the yarns with different crimp levels into the same fabric will cause light to reflect differently, creating a stripy appearance due to variations in bulk. When measuring the Crimp and Shrinkage, TYT-E can apply as low as 1mg/denier tension on the yarn to measure the slightest change in crimp and shrinkage.
Lawson Hemphill developed the Textured Yarn Tester with Electronic Servo Drive , TYT-E, to overcome the disadvantages of the Skein Method by reducing test time (1000+ pkgs/8hours with a Package Changer). TYT-E also has an exclusive ASTM Standard D6774, “Standard Test method for Crimp and Shrinkage Properties for Textured Yarns using a Dynamic Textured Yarn Tester” and it conforms to the Chinese Standard GB/T6508-2001.
TYT-E provides a dynamic platform that allows measuring every section of the yarn to simultaneously determine four yarn properties, including Total Recovery (Total Contraction), Fiber Shrinkage, Fiber Crimp and Entanglement.
In addition to providing direct feedback on yarn quality during production, TYT-E can be placed directly in the yarn packaging area to qualify outgoing packages before final shipment.
Windows based TYT-E software program features user-friendly touchscreen interface and it provides complete statistical report with accept/reject limits and built-in ability to connect to a network to control the production parameters remotely.

FAK-S FIBER ANALYSIS KNITTER SAMPLER
LH-122 FAK-S
The Lawson Hemphill FAK-Sampler, FAK-S is recognized as the worldwide standard for lab knitting machines. It is a high-speed, precision knitting machine designed to check uniformity and consistency of the yarn quickly and accurately. It is ideal for use in production control and R&D labs as well as dyeing plants.
In any knitting application, the yarn tension and the yarn feed controls are critical to ensure fabric uniformity. Any changes in these variables during knitting will cause irregularities, creating a defective fabric. The FAK-S has a built-in Stitch Control System, which ensures the preparation of the standard samples of knit fabric for yarn quality control purposes. The machine also features a take-up assembly to collect the fabric under controlled tension to further ensure fabric uniformity.
The FAK-S can knit all types of yarns, including synthetic and natural fibers as well as monofilament, filament, elastomeric and spun yarns. Nine different cylinder sizes are available to knit yarns from 10d up to 2000d. All knitting cylinders are interchangeable and can be used with all Lawson Hemphill knitters. (Please consult Lawson Hemphill for knitting higher or lower denier yarns).
